How do I get my daughter away from her useless boyfriend? | The Sun

DEAR DEIDRE: I TURFED my daughter’s useless boyfriend out of my house but she is still seeing him.

How can I make her realise he’s bad news and will hurt her and her baby son?

My daughter is 24 and I’m her mum, aged 50. Her boyfriend is 27.

She got pregnant last year and I agreed to help her with the baby and let her boyfriend move in, too.

But I soon saw he was controlling and lazy, and was into drink and drugs so I asked him to leave my home.

My daughter was heartbroken and says I’ve split up her family.

DEIDRE SAYS: Your daughter is an adult and you can’t stop her making her own mistakes.

The more you criticise her boyfriend or try to stop her being with him, the more determined she’ll be to stay with him.

All you can do is show her you’re there for her and try to keep on good terms for your grandson’s sake.

Hopefully, in time, she’ll see sense. Get support from Family Lives (familylives.org.uk, 0808 800 2222).
