I quit my dream job to work at McDonald's – it's not as glamorous but now I earn MORE money | The Sun

A FLIGHT attendant quit her dream job to work in McDonald's – and now she earns more cash.

Saffron Laszkowicz traded in jetting across the globe with Ryanair for flipping burgers but says she couldn't be happier.

The young girl, from Doncaster, picked up a job at Maccies three years ago before ditching it to go into cabin crew training.

In a TikTok, she said: “I started working at McDonald's in December 2020 during Covid, I had nothing to do because we were in lockdown."

But, the following year she decided to make the leap, and applied for a career on-board with the budget airline.

After six weeks of intense training, Saffron was left with empty pockets, and turned to her former fast-food chain for help.

“I realised I wasn't earning as much as I used to so decided to go back to McDonald's part time in October 2022," she added.

The stewardess tried to juggle serving passengers on flights and hungry customers in the drive-thru, but it became too much.

Saffron's financial position meant her job with Ryanair became impractical and she handed in her notice.

She happily told fans: “'I get paid for every minute. It's less travelling time to get to work.

“I'm earning the same (if not more) for much less stress. I get more free time to spend with my family and work on myself.”

In another video she said: "It (cabin crew) was my dream job once, and I wish I had a real insight into the job instead of thinking it was going to be such an amazing, positive, absolutely no negatives to the job at all.

"But that's not reality and if it is people's dream they should know exactly what they're getting themselves into. Not the fake stuff you see on social media.

"You don't get to travel on short haul, you don't get to see things and explore places, you're stuck in a metal can for hours on end, delay after delay, stand on the steps for five minutes of fresh air, then back you go.

"I'd rather be in a job where I'm being paid for every single minute I'm working and "smelling of grease" than work a 12 hour day and only get paid for seven of those hours."

One user commented on her TikTok and wrote: “People don’t realise how bad flight attendants get paid, that’s why I haven’t left retail for it yet.”

Someone else penned: "The fact you earn more working at maccies than as a flight attendant is criminal."

"The only reason I haven't tried to become a flight attendant is because of the pay, I can't do that to myself," commented a third.

"My brother makes bank at McDonald's, they even pay for his car," claimed a fourth.

But one former McDonald's employee admitted: “'I quit McDonald's after 9 years last October and I will never go back.”

This comes as a man who jacked in his corporate job to work at McDonald's says he has never been happier.
