Kourtney Kardashian is doing her best to bring back the ‘Myspace haircut

We love how Kourtney Kardashian Barker is bringing back all of the retro trends we were worried had gotten lost amongst all the modern beauty looks. She’s reintroduced us to old Hollywood glam hair and full fringes of yesteryear, and now she’s doing her best to bring back a hairstyle that was the “it” look for any Myspace user.

If you weren’t around in the Myspace days (lucky you), the website was one of the first ways friends could share pictures and interact online. The site was popular between 2005-2008, and the in-demand hair trend of that time was a razored, mid-length “emo” cut.

Thankfully, Kourtney isn’t trying to bring back the heavy eyeliner and side-swept fringes that came with that hairstyle, but she is bringing back the choppy mid-length look – and we’re not mad at it. It’s also very apt because Kourt's husband, Travis Barker, was one of the ultimate Myspace pin-ups for all early noughties girls.

Posing for new Instagram snaps with the short hairstyle, Kourt decides against giving the post a text caption. Instead, she adds plenty of Valentine’s Day-appropriate emojis.

“Betty Boop,” one fan comments, comparing her hair and outfit to the iconic retro cartoon character.

“Valentine’s Day queen,” says another, while a third writes: “The hair” with a heart-eye emoji.

Celebs who famously wore this exact hair look back in the early 2000s include Christina Aguilera, Jo O'Meara from S Club 7 and Mandy Moore. Someone should let them know the look is back in fashion as we imagine they’ll be delighted.

Kourtney is becoming a dab hand at starting beauty trends as of late. We can partially credit her for the popularity of black lipstick outside of Halloween month. Posing for a snap late last year with the gothic-glam shade, Kourtney wrote: “Sometimes it takes darkness and the sweet confinement of your aloneness to learn.”

Since then, TikTok has seen a rise in tutorials showing how to make matte black lipstick look cool. We’re not sure how we feel about it, but we do know that Kourt suits pretty much any hair or make-up look she tries.
