Deepfake tool makes it look like you’re actually paying attention on video calls

With thousands of workers spending countless hours on video conferences every week, it's no wonder that 'Zoom fatigue' is real.

This is when people get worn out, tired or bored of perpetual video calls, which have quickly replaced in-person meetings following the rise of widespread remote work.

So to help people get away with doing less on video calls, tech giant NVIDIA has come up with a new AI-powered tool which makes it look like you're paying attention—even if you're doing something completely different.

The 'Eye Contact' tool works by creating a deepfake of your face that maintains consistent eye contact with your webcam, even if you're really looking away at your phone.

If you don't have a fancy graphics card capable of running the software, don't worry.

Apple added a similar feature called 'Attention Correction' to iOS 13 back in 2019 that makes it look like you're making eye contact on FaceTime even when you're not.

To use the tool, all you have to do is tap the Settings app icon on your iPhone's home screen, then scroll down and click 'FaceTime'.

Then, just toggle 'Eye Contact' on to activate the feature. Now you can get on with whatever it is you want to do instead of paying attention to the person you decided to talk to.
