There is set to be tension aplenty between Amy Barlow and Aadi Alahan in upcoming Coronation Street scenes, with the two involved in a heated exchange.
Cast members of the ITV soap Elle Mulvaney an Adam Hussain were spotted filming the scenes in question near the show’s studios this week, with the shoot not wrapping until midnight.
What exactly transpires remains to be seen, but pictures show animosity aplenty, with Amy laying into Aadi over something, with Aadi evidently annoyed by what she’s had to say.
Just what is it that Amy has said to him?
Could it perhaps be in relation to the affair Aadi is currently having with Courtney Vance, played by Hollyoaks actress Stephanie Davis?
Or is she perhaps telling Aadi that she herself is harbouring feelings for him? At one stage, it did seem like Aadi possessed feelings for Amy, but that all changed upon Courtney’s arrival.
Aadi and Courtney, as viewers know, embarked on a secret relationship earlier this year after Darren, Courtney’s husband, went into business with Aadi’s dad Dev (Jimmi Harkishin).
Aadi wasn’t sure what to make of the situation at first, but soon enough he and Courtney were getting along like a house on fire, with the two repeatedly sneaking off to have some alone time together.
Amy, meanwhile, walked in on the pair in a compromising position and, despite her doubts about the coupling, she agreed to keep shtum. Dev, however, uncovered the truth or himself last week when he found Aadi and Courtney kissing.
The affair was subsequently exposed, with Darren handing Courtney divorce papers and Courtney moving in with Aadi, much to Dev’s dismay, with upcoming scenes seeing the shop owner do his best to get Courtney out of his son’s life once and for all.
But does Courtney really care about Aadi?
‘She does really care about Aadi,’ actress Stephanie Davis revealed. ‘She really is fond of him, but I think the cracks do start to show because she’s been so accustomed to that lifestyle with Darren, living the high life. Then it’s like “Wow. This is my reality now.” But she is fond of him.
‘Her feelings for Aadi are genuine. She does genuinely think the world of him and thinks he’s this beautiful person.

‘But she’s just so toxic in her behaviours that she’s had for so long, it’s like she automatically goes back into those defects of character.
‘She does genuinely care about him.
‘As has been said, Darren has cheated on her before in the past and a part of it for Courtney is “I’m going to treat you how you’ve treated me and let’s see how you like it.” She wants to get that reaction out of him.’
Coronation Street airs Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 8pm on ITV1 and ITVX.
