During Sunday morning’s instalment of BBC Breakfast, presenters Ben Thompson and Victoria Fritz were speaking to Louise Lear on how viewers can expect a chilly start. Highlighting the intensity of the storms ahead in other countries, Ben tried to ask a question but couldn’t quite articulate himself.

After Louise had given a forecast on the days ahead, Ben commented on storm Fiona which is currently hitting Canada’s Atlantic coastline.

With extremely high winds, hundreds of thousands of people have been left without power with some houses being washed into the sea.

The BBC Breakfast reporter highlighted concerns of there being a hurricane in the gulf as well.

Although when he tried to articulate his question, Ben struggled to get the correct words out.

He said: “We’re getting to that time of year where this is sort of expected but nonetheless it seems pretty, kind of-

“These are getting worse and worse every year, the intensity of these storms.”

With Louise then informing him that Fiona has been the first hurricane that has come late in the season, she said it’s storm Ian people need to look out for next.

Once she had finished explaining, Ben commented: “Your explanation, is much better than my question! I knew what I wanted to say I just couldn’t quite annunciate it.”

Laughing, Louise jokingly hit back: “Go and have a coffee Ben! You’ll be fine.”

Holding up his mug showing he’s already got one at the ready, his co-host Victoria tried to reassure him that everyone has these moments.

Laughing at his mishap, she said: “Don’t worry, I was like, ‘Do I jump in?’

“No, just let him bleed!”

Seeing Ben and Victoria on the sofa together thrilled viewers with many saying they were a great duo and stated they should be on the sofa more often.

Twitter user Ben Rich Fans shared an image of them both saying he loved the pairing with many echoing his thoughts.

Andrew Powell said: “A brilliant double act & a great way to brighten up the morning.” (sic)

Reposting an image that Ben shared of them both behind the scenes of the show, Victoria received an influx of support from her 49,300 Twitter followers.

Jackdawjones commented on a photo Victoria shared saying: “Would love to see the two of you on breakfast every morning.”
