Coronation Street couple Daisy Midgely (played by Charlotte Jordan) and Daniel Osbourne (Rob Mallard) are gearing up for their wedding day, however, it is set to be ruined by stalker Justin Rutherford (Andrew Still). After Daisy had him arrested, things started coming together for the Rover’s barmaid, although things are set to take a turn when the duo’s big day arrives.
In official spoilers released by ITV, Daisy’s day gets off to a bad start when she wakes with a bloodshot eye.
Then, Ryan (Ryan Prescott) is forced to step in as chauffeur as the wedding car has been stolen.
As if that wasn’t enough, the wedding cake arrives decorated with a retirement message.
Despite the hiccups, Jenny (Sally Ann Matthews) and Glenda (Jodie Prenger) help Daisy ready, and she arrives downstairs in the Rovers looking a million dollars in an off the shoulder gown.
However, she and her chauffeur Ryan are shocked to find Justin lurking in the Rovers.
In a sinister twist to an already disturbing story, Justin tells Daisy that no one will want her after this.
He advances on the stunned barmaid holding a glass full of clear liquid, which is actually acid and throws it at her.
Asked about the disturbing plot Charlotte Jordan who plays Daisy said: “When I was first told about this storyline, I really didn’t see this coming.
“It’s not something you see a lot on television so I was really surprised.”
“There is a fear lurking in the back of Daisy’s mind since Justin was released on bail,” she admitted.
“She has always been thinking, ‘will Justin retaliate in some way?’
“Seeing him again after he has been warned multiple times by officials to stay away from her, she is certainly scared of how he is going to react.

“I don’t think Daisy really thought about how obsessed Justin was going to become,” she confessed.
Coronation Street has worked with the Katie Piper foundation on the distressing storyline.
Producer Iain MacLeod said: “We were keen to show the long-term reality for people who are subjected to this kind of attack.
“It is something we might often read about in the papers but perhaps don’t fully understand, in terms of the depth and variety of effects it can have.
“As well as the medical impacts, we explore the social fallout of having your appearance profoundly changed, both in terms of your own ability to process that and how the wider world reacts to you,” he revealed.
“The story will at times be heartbreaking, but we felt it was an important one to tell.”
Viewers will have to wait to see how Daisy overcomes the ordeal but the repercussions of Justin’s attack are set to reverberate on the cobbles for a long time to come.
Coronation Street is on ITV at 8pm on Monday, Wednesday and Friday nights.
