Coronation Street's landlord of the Rovers revealed by backstage blunder | The Sun

ONE soap star will be slipping on her skates and took to Instagram to reveal who she had been partnered up with.

But in doing so, Claire Sweeney unwillingly revealed who would be in charge of the Rovers Return in Coronation Street.

The Cassandra Plummer actress, who made her debut in the ITV soap earlier this year, will be one of the eleven faces to appear in the sixteenth series of Dancing On Ice.

Speaking about the new challenge, she said: "I'm really looking forward to going to an ice rink with my son and actually being able to skate and not have to use the penguins they give you to help you stay upright!"

Keen to take part in the competition, the former Brookside star took to Instagram on November 10, 2023, to reveal who she'd be strutting alongside to.

Claire Sweeney's followers were over the moon when she announced she'd be partnering up with season 15 finalist Colin Grafton, who was introduced to Dancing on Ice fans earlier this year.

The pair struck a pose outside of the Rovers Return Inn to break the news to viewers and shared another snap of them in the cobbles with the caption reading: "The wait is over… Team Claire & Colin is here."

"Fabulous can’t wait to see you both in the ice", one follower penned in response as another echoed: "Yay, can't wait to watch you and Claire, team Colin and Claire!"

But while many followers excitedly responded to the news in the comment section, Claire may be walking on thinner ice than she thought with soap bosses as she gave out an important detail.

Eagle-eyed individuals may have spotted a major detail confirming Jenny Connor (played by Sally-Ann Matthews) will be back in the pub as landlady in no time.
