A number of Coronation Street cast members were seen partying recently as Elle Mulvaney celebrated her 21st birthday.

Elle swapped her Amy Barlow attire for a dress and black leather jacket, ready for a boozy evening in Manchester.

During the night, Elle’s co-star and close friend Harriet Bibby (Summer Spellman) was spotted leaving the venue, while Cait Fitton, who plays Lauren Bolton in the show, was seen sharing a kiss with Paddy Bever (Max Turner).

Elle has played the role of Amy since 2010. Most recently, the character tried to move forward after being raped by Aaron Sandford (James Craven).

Speaking to us at the recent Inside Soap Awards, Elle revealed that Amy still has a long way to go on her journey, and that it will be a difficult road ahead, with plenty of ‘ups and downs’.

‘We’ve seen on screen she’s starting to have a little bit of joy and stuff, getting to become better friends with Aadi in the whole Aadi and Courtney storyline,’ Elle told us.

‘We’re starting to see Amy laugh again and go out again, so it’s nice in those aspects. But there’s no straight road of starts getting happy, gets really happy, gets really happy, you know? It’s going to be up and down.

‘People are never 100% okay, and also, even if you are great for one period of time, something might happen which might remind you and might bring you back down, to then build yourself up again.

‘So I think we’re really going to see a journey, more than just that she’s better again.’

Elsewhere, new details of this year’s Super Soap Week have been revealed.
