Corrie child star Bella reveals she doesnt learn her scripts until night before and almost gave up acting before big role

When all three children in one family star in some of the biggest soaps on TV, including Emmerdale and Coronation Street, things can get a little busy.

But for mum and dad Rachel and Chris Flanagan – who are parents to Amelia, 15, and twins Will and Bella, 12 – they key to juggling it all is organisation.

The husband and wife, who live near Leeds, spend much of their time ferrying the children from school to the Emmerdale and Corrie sets, and Rachel explained how they manage to co-ordinate such hectic schedules.

“Every week is completely different and there are a lot of blackboards in our house,” Rachel, 39, told OK! . “The kids can work anything from zero to five days a week. So multiplied by three, that’s a lot to manage!”

There's one member of the family, however, who likes to leave things a little bit to chance – and that's the joint-youngest Flanagan sibling Bella.

‘My 3 kids are all TV stars on Emmerdale and Corrie but I’m not a pushy parent’

"I like to learn mine the night before," the youngster who plays Hope Dobbs in ITV's Coronation Street revealed when we asked when she learns her lines.

"I read my own lines out loud and the other parts in my head. It’s what works best for me. I know them better in the morning."

Bella is one of three siblings who is more than familiar with 'soap land', as big sister Amelia joined Emmerdale when she was just five, playing April Windsor, the daughter of Donna Windsor and Marlon Dingle.

Almost four years later, Bella and her brother Will were cast in Coronation Street playing cousins Joseph Brown and Hope Dobbs.

Bella’s character Hope, in particular, has been at the heart of many a dramatic storyline, including committing arson, threatening someone with a hammer and her on-screen dad, John Stape, was a killer.

Aside from the often-gruesome storylines though, Bella admitted that one her favourite things is working with her on-screen mum Jennie McAlpine (who plays Fizz), and on-screen stepdad Alan Halsall (Tyrone).

"They’re literally like my second parents," Bella said. "I couldn’t imagine my life without them. They’re the loveliest people and really genuine."
