Coronation Street’s Hope Stape star has opened up on her “heated” home life with her co-star siblings, admitting that she often feels “left out”.

Isabella Flanagan plays John Stape’s daughter Hope on the Corrie cobbles, while her twin brother William takes on the role of Joseph Brown, Hope’s cousin.

Their older sister Amelia is best known for starring as April Windsor in rival ITV soap Emmerdale.

Now Isabella has been nominated for Best Young Performer at the Inside Soap Awards, and will be going head-to-head with her older sister for the accolade.

Also nominated is Emmerdale’s Gabrielle Dowling, who plays Cathy Hope, and Jude Riordan, Corrie’s Sam Blakeman.

Speaking to Inside Soap about her life at home with her siblings, Isabella explained: “I always felt left out as my sister has won so many awards. So it’s nice to finally be nominated.”

She added that the siblings have plenty of “heated” conversations, explaining: “There are so many debates at home whenever there are awards ceremonies.

"Me and my brother are Team Corrie and my sister is obviously team Emmerdale, so it does get a bit heated sometimes!”

Isabella confirmed that the trio do support each other and run lines together, describing their “really great bond”.

Her sister Amelia added that the atmosphere between them is “never competitive”, explaining that she often pretends to be a character from Coronation Street while running lines with her siblings, while they take on Emmerdale personas.

And Amelia is in full support of Isabella, as she told the publication: “I’m up against Bella for an award for the first time, and as much as I’d love to win, I really hope my sister gets it!”

Amelia has even popped over to the Corrie set on more than one occasion, posing alongside her soap star siblings outside the Rovers Return.

Their dad Chris often shares updates on his famous kids, praising his talented offspring on Twitter as he discussed their “busy months” and promised “lots more to come for Hope on Corrie and April on Emmerdale”.

Coronation Street airs Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 8pm on ITV.
