EastEnders Brian Conley plans farewell tour amid shock decision to quit soap after two years

EastEnders star Brian Conley has planned a "farewell tour" following the shock news that he is quitting his role as Rocky Cotton in the soap.

The 62 year old actor is about to head off on his latest tour, which is called The 3rd Farewell Tour… To Date, and will see fans treated to an evening of comedy, music and entertainment.

Brian has appeared in several musicals over the years, and this time he will kick off on 24 September in Peterborough.

The show synopsis says: "Brian Conley is back on the road with a brand new tour.

"Join the multi-award winning star of the West End and countless hit TV series for an evening of comedy, music and entertainment."

Once the first show has been, Brian will then head across the country to perform in High Wycombe on 30 September.

In October, Brian will then take to the stage in Dartford in October before heading to Cardiff in November.

He will then take a short break over the festive period before returning to his tour in Swindon in February next year.

To complete the list of gigs, Brian will be performing in Portsmouth, Guildford and Coventry in March.

More dates are set to be announced in the future.

The news comes after The Sun reported that Brian is leaving Walford after over two years on the soap.

An EastEnders insider told the publication: "Brian was a brilliant signing and has been a big hit with fans. But it looks as though he’s just not enjoying being on EastEnders any more — and has been telling a lot of colleagues and telly friends he wanted out for a while."

They then added: "At the National TV Awards last week, he was pretty open with co-stars and friends about his exit."

The insider also reported that the bosses at the show are now working to come up with a worthy ending for the character, who has become one of the most popular on the programme.

One male Walford resident is set to be killed on Christmas Day by one of the six, Stacey Slater, Suki Panesar, Sharon Watts, Linda Carter, Denise Fox and Kathy Beale, who were seen standing over the body during a flash-forward episode that aired earlier this year.

Apparently, the male who was killed was meant to be a different character, but now reports suggest that Rocky could be the one who is killed.
