Emmerdale couple Charley Webb and Matthew Wolfenden spark split fears amid ‘separate lives’

Emmerdale's real-life couple Charley Webb and Matthew Wolfenden have sparked rumours of a split. The pair, who have been together for over two decades, have reportedly been 'living separate' lives recently.

The couple, parents to Buster, 12, Bowie, six, and Ace, three, had previously separated in 2013 for two years before reuniting and marrying in 2018. They first met in 2007 and got engaged in 2009.

Despite their past reconciliation, sources now suggest that the actors are 'living separate lives' and are in 'very different places' in their personal lives.

"Charley and Matthew were in very different places in their lives when they first got together. Three kids later and with new careers in the mix, everything has changed and perhaps they are no longer the unit they once were," a source told The Sun.

Fans had started to suspect that Charley and Matthew might be growing apart. When Charley bagged possibly the biggest role of her career in the new ITV drama The Long Shadow, Matthew didn't shown any support for her on social media.

Plus, neither has given any glimpses of their life as a couple on social media for over a year, only posting about family milestones and get-togethers with friends, with no snaps of them together.

According to The Sun, the pair haven't been commenting on or liking each other's posts for months.

And when Matt was on Loose Women last week, viewers noticed that he talked lovingly about their three kids, but didn't mention Charley.

OK! has contacted Charley and Matthew's representatives for comment on the claims.

The news comes just weeks after it was confirmed that 43 year old Matthew will be leavingEmmerdale later this year.

A TV source told The Sun that Matthew's character David could be killed off, they said: "He hasn’t been getting any gritty storylines recently so wants to see what else is out there…. He’s only just announced he is leaving so scriptwriters are working out his on-screen exit. It’s possible David could be killed off."

The star later confirmed that David's exit storyline is linked to his ex Victoria Sugden, as when he appeared on This Morning he explained: "There is a resolution of sorts… I can't give too much away. Victoria is the reason why he leaves the village… put it that way! He leaves because of Victoria, in a way, I can't give too much away!"
