Emmerdale legend CONFIRMS soap exit after 25 years on ITV show and reveals new job | The Sun

EMMMERDALE legend Samantha Giles has confirmed her soap exit after 25 years on the ITV show – while announcing her new job.

The Sun revealed in July that Samantha, 52, would be calling time on playing Bernice Blackstock, 25 years after joining the show.

She's now substantiated our story, admitting on today's This Morning that she'll soon be leaving the Woolpack for good.

The actress had been gushing about her Wicked Stepmother role in an upcoming production of Cinderella.

When Alison Hammond noted that her panto job would coincide with her Emmerdale departure, Samantha verified the news.

She said, "I haven't been able to kind of confirm it, really, until now. I am going. I think my last episode is 14th November, the final episode."

It came as no surprise to viewers as she only recently teased her new gig in the Bradford production.

In a reveal photo posted to Instagram, Samantha could be seen jokingly covering the faces of her co-stars on the Cinderella poster.

The actress was kitted out in black from head to toe, exactly as you would expect a panto villain to be.

She wore a theatrical hat with a black feather, black gloves, and a black coat as she posed for the behind-the-scenes snap.

It will be the fourth time the actress has quit the Dales since she started playing Bernice in 1998.

A source said: "Bernice Blackstock has been in and out of Emmerdale village more than they change the barrels at The Woolpack.

"She’s always welcomed back with open arms by ITV and fans alike, but it’s now becoming a bit of a running joke.

"It wouldn’t pay to bet on whether Samantha will one day be back, but for now she will leave the soap later this year."
