Emmerdale actress Isabel Hodgins has become a household name through her compelling portrayal of Victoria Sugden on the long-running ITV hit soap.

Her journey into the world of television began at the tender age of 12 when she joined the cast back in 2006, embarking on a career that would see her evolve into a beloved fixture of the show.

Isabel’s character has grappled with an array of dramatic storylines, from the heart-pounding incident of running over the late vicar Ashley Thomas, which left him hospitalised, to the heart-wrenching loss of her one true love and the harrowing ordeal of a devastating rape attack, Isabel has consistently delivered captivating performances that have kept viewers glued to their screens.

But beyond the dramas of the fictional Yorkshire village the star has a much less dramatic life. Whilst fiercely private about her romantic escaped, the star in very much loved-up with her rarely seen boyfriend. Daily Star take a look at her romantic journey.

Co-star romance

Actress Isabel's love life has seen its share of ups and downs. Her character was married to Adam Barton (Adam Thomas) – but off screen she was dating onscreen brother-in-law Mike Parr, who played Ross Barton on the soap. She reportedly began dating Michael, who joined Emmerdale in 2013, in real life a couple of years later.

Their relationship is said to have ended in 2019 when Michael pursued his acting career in the US. The pair let the cat out of the bag on July 15, 2016, when each posted snaps from identical locations while on a romantic break in Paris.

Michael, 35, later posted a gushing post about Isabel to mark her birthday. He wrote: "Happy 24th birthday to this little one. Who woulda thought that 5’2 (and a half) could pack so much love, devotion and attitude.

"Thank you for being the most wonderful and caring best friend a boy could ask for. Love you to the moon and back. X." After three years together the pair finally split as Adam moved to America to pursue his career.

A source at the time said: "They drifted apart and felt it was better to be mates. He has been throwing himself into his social life and has just been on a lads' hol and she is focusing on work, they're both young and want to follow their dreams.”

Fling rumours

Rumours swirled about actress Isabel's involvement with co-star Danny Miller, even while she was in a relationship with their mutual co-star, Michael. Allegations emerged when Danny's former partner, Kirsty-Leigh Porter, discovered text exchanges between Danny and Isabel, leading to tension both on and off the set.

According to The Sun, the situation became increasingly fraught and a source said: "Isabel and Danny thought they could keep their romance secret, but when Kirsty-Leigh saw the texts on his phone, the game was up. She was furious. Michael was also angry, as he thought he and Danny were close friends.

The tension between them caused major problems on set because Michael made it crystal clear he didn’t want to be around Danny. The revelations caused arguments among the cast, who split into two camps." Despite the past drama, Isabel has since found happiness in her personal life.

Rarely-seen boyfriend

Actress Isabel has been quite private about her relationship with boyfriend Adam Whitehead, rarely featuring him on her social media. However, in December 2022, she made their romance public by sharing a photo on her Instagram, marking a significant step in their love story.

While Adam remains mostly out of the spotlight, they recently surfaced together after tackling the challenging Yorkshire Tough Mudder obstacle course. Isabel commemorated their achievement with a caption that read, "Yorkshire tough mudder. Blood, sweat, and surprisingly no tears! Amazing things come from taking yourself out of your comfort zone."

In a recent Instagram post, she sent a heartwarming birthday message to her boyfriend, sharing a collage of cherished moments between them, along with the endearing caption: "Happy birthday sleeping beauty." The pair also shared a festive snapshot in December that showed Isabel and Adam cozily embracing in front of a beautifully adorned Christmas tree.
