Inside Bargain Hunt's Christina Trevanion's life – from husband & children hidden from cameras to own auction house | The Sun

SHE has achieved fame thanks to her regular appearances on Bargain Hunt but you've likely seen Christina Trevanion in many other places on the box too.

The glam BBC star has lived a colourful life thanks to a variety of TV shows as well as being involved in the running of her own auction house.

Having grown up in Cheshire, Christina, 42, studied at Southampton Solent University before landing a coveted job at notable auction house, Christie's.

It is here where Christina learnt the bulk of her knowledge when it comes to the world of antiques and buying and selling as well as having a good eye for a pricey item or two.

Encourged by her success, she went onto set up her own auction house with university pal Aaron Dean, aptly named Trevanion & Dean.

Opened up in 2014 in Shropshire, Christina went onto become the sole owner just four years later when she bought the shares of her former business partner.

Speaking at the time about her passion for her auction house, the BBC star said:  "I have been delighted to welcome lots of friendly new faces to Trevanion and Dean.

"We are fully committed to continuing to be able to offer the people of Shropshire, Cheshire, Wales and the surrounding area the high levels of customer service they expect from their local auction house, while providing them with an international platform on which to offer their treasured possessions."

Whilst her auction house keeps her busy, her television career has gone from strength to strength.

Although most known for her appearances on daytime TV hit Bargain Hunt, she has led a number of other similar programmes.

Last year, she landed the role of co-host of the Beeb's The Travelling Auctioneer alongside The Repair Shop favourite Will Kirk.

She has already got to work on a second series of the programme alongside her new co-star, Invictus Games medallist and Strictly Come Dancing contestant JJ Chalmers.

As well as this she has appeared on Antiques Road Trip, Flog It and Put Your Money Where Your Mouth Is.

Away from the cameras, Christina has opted to keep her private life out of the spotlight and does not feature her husband or two daughters on her social media pages.

Despite remaining tight-lipped on her family dynamics, she has previously confessed that life at home can be pretty "hectic".

She said: "I am married with two children and a dog called Welly. Life is pretty noisy, hectic and good fun."

When it comes to how she manages her life, she admitted she loved that "no two days are the same" as a result of the different treasures she finds at her auction house as well as her busy TV career.

Christina said: "No two days are the same – one day I can be covered in cobwebs rummaging around in someone’s loft looking for priceless treasures; the next I can be giving a lecture to a group on early English porcelain.

"The antiques industry isn’t just a vocation, it’s a way of life, and it’s the only thing I’ve ever wanted to do."
