Jeff Brazier took to social media on the day of son Bobby’s EastEnders debut to thank fans for supporting his children.
Bobby’s first scenes in the BBC One soap aired on Tuesday, as Freddie Slater rocked up in Walford for the first time since 2006.
Freddie made quite an entrance, causing a stir with the Bridge Street market traders as he helped himself to a bap from Stacey Slater’s (Lacey Turner) stall – without paying!
The newcomer hightailed it out of there, making his way to the Tube station, where Bobby Beale (Clay Milner Russell) spotted him and, taking pity on him, covered his fare.
Freddie subsequently returned to the Square, where he bought Billy Mitchell (Perry Fenwick) a pint, revealing that he thinks he’s his dad.
Bobby’s debut scenes were received incredibly well by fans of EastEnders, and his dad Jeff – who welcomed Bobby in 2003 with Big Brother star Jade Goody – posted a sweet tribute to mark the occasion.
‘So proud,’ he wrote on Instagram, alongside a series of pictures of his son.
‘A wonderful moment for the whole family and anyone that has had this kids back through it all. Thank you for supporting my children.’
Bobby replied to post with a simple: ‘Eeeeeeee,’ while his EastEnders co-star James Farrar – who plays Zack Hudson – commented: ‘Well proud’.
It was revealed in July that Bobby, who will make his acting debut in the soap, has joined the cast of EastEnders.
‘I’m really excited to be joining the cast of EastEnders – so far it’s been perfect,’ he said. ‘Everybody has been so beautiful to me and made settling in easier than I could’ve hoped.
‘Stepping into the acting world has always been a vision of mine and doing that with EastEnders as a Slater is a blessing, I’m very grateful. Loving every minute of Freddie so far and can’t wait to see what’s in store for him in Walford.’
EastEnders airs Mondays to Thursdays at 7:30pm on BBC One.
