MUSIC star Jesse Powell has died at the age of 51, according to his sister.
The R&B artist, who was from Indiana, passed away at his Los Angeles home.
His cause of death remains unknown.
In a heartbreaking Instagram post, Powell’s sister Tamara said: “It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of our beloved son, brother, and uncle Jesse Powell.”
“The family asks for privacy at this time as we mourn this tremendous loss and celebrate his everlasting legacy.
“Jesse loved music and he especially loved his fans who supported him throughout his career. We want you all to know that you meant the world to him. – The Powell Family.”

Powell was best known for the song "You" which he released in 1996 before being re-released two years later.
The track reached number ten on the Billboard Hot 100.
He's the older brother of Trina and Tamara Powell who are also R&B singers.
Music fans have paid tribute to Powell as news of his death emerged.
