Jim Davidson fumes were there to be taken down in GB News rant

GB News: Jim Davidson slams ‘woke culture’

Jim Davidson claimed celebrities and people in the public eye are “there to be taken down” in a new rant about “woke” culture.

Whilst discussing the migrants crossing the Dorset coast on the barge, Jim told GB News host Dan Wootton: “A floating hotel.

“It is crazy, absolutely crazy and I don’t know the answer to it but the world has gone mad, people are concentrating on this woke, cancel, nasty, accusation culture.

“You should know that Dan, instead of getting on with what needs to be done, we live in a world now that just an accusation can cause so much trouble.

“It is crazy, I have been through some of this, we are celebrities, we are there, we have bullseyes on our a***s.

“We’re there to be taken down but I don’t want to live in a world where the accusation does the damage, I don’t like that.”

Dan added: “And it is social media that has made all the difference because it is the wild west.”

Jim concluded: “It is, social media is a blackboard that you can write dirty words on and run off, it is crazy.”

Viewers of the show were left divided by the comments made by Jim and took to Twitter to express their views.

@basss4them commented: “I agree… People think that just because they’re celebrities and in the public eye it is a free for all into their life.”

@MadCrunch99 added: “Never thought I’d see the day but I agree with Jim Davidson… people are too quick to pass a judgement or accusation and then the consequences are catastrophic.”

However, not everyone could see where Jim was coming from, as Tina Mangreys quipped: “But if your in the public eye then surely judgement comes with the job no?”

Gary Johnson said: “Not saying people should be accused without evidence but you’re putting yourself in that vulnerable situation by being in that industry? Maybe think about what you say a bit more.” (sic)

Carole Player penned: “Woke culture is just for the celebrities who can’t face the fact they’ve done something wrong and will have to pay the price.” (sic)

Dan Wootton tonight airs Monday – Thursday from 9pm on GB News.
