Kerry Katona claims doctors said she had illness that 'hasn't been identified' | The Sun

KERRY Katona has claimed that doctors haven't been able to identify the virus she has been recently struck down with.

The former Atomic Kitten singer has confirmed that whilst she is recovering, she's still a long way from feeling 100 per cent better.

Kerry, 42, opened up about her mystery illness in her New Magazine column, where she said that she tested negative for Covid, whilst doctors remained perplexed.

However, the former Queen of the Jungle confirmed that the medical professionals are not ruling out another strain of the virus.

She said: "I finally feel like I'm back on the mend after being struck down with a virus.

"All my lateral flow tests were negative, but every doctor I spoke to said they believed it could be a new variant of covid that hasn't been identified yet. I've never been so poorly in my life!"

Kerry added that she has been under extensive treatment for her mystery illness.

The former singer said: "I've been on two loads of antibiotics over the past few weeks. I'm still not 100% right, but I feel much better than I did and I'm getting there.

"I must admit, because of my illness and because I've been so busy, I'm not really feeling any January motivation yet!"

She added: "I don't have any energy to do any exercise. But once I've had my operation and I've recovered, I'll be back on it!"

Kerry has had a tough time of late, as she was recently struck down with an illness during her pantomime performances.

This was after the reality star told how she was so fearful for her health that she raced into A&E.

Initially, Kerry said she felt unable to breathe, telling fans: "I feel like I need popping."

When the situation worsened, she visited hospital to try and get a diagnosis.

The star told New magazine: "I'm really swollen and it hasn't got any better. I ended up going to A&E as I was so worried about it.

"They've told me that they need to investigate further.

"So for now, my doctor at Pall Mall Cosmetics has given me some water tablets which will hopefully help with the swelling."
