Kirstie Allsopp takes swipe at queue jumpers after Holly and Phil backlash

Kirstie Allsopp has hit out at people who “think they’re too important to queue” to pay their respects to the late Queen Elizabeth II in a brutal dig online.

Following the devastating news of Her Royal Highness’ passing on September 8, thousands have descended on the capital to visit the monarch who is lying-in-state at the Palace of Westminster.

Queues have been stretching back five miles across the capital with mourners waiting upwards of 24 hours to view the Queen’s coffin over the weekend until her funeral on Monday (September 19).

The Location, Location, Location star, 51, has since taken to Twitter to praise David Beckham who queued up for 12 hours to see Her Majesty’s coffin online.

In doing so, the brunette beauty made sure to take a brutal dig at those who have been accused of “queue jumping”.

It comes after Holly Willoughby, 41, and Phillip Schofield, 60, faced a wave of backlash on social media after the This Morning presenters were accused of skipping the line of mourners to see Queen Elizabeth on Friday (September 16).

The ITV hosts donned matching black ensemble for the sombre segment which is set to air during Tuesday’s episode of This Morning at London’s Westminster Hall.

The duo joined a separate queue for press where they could pay their respects before they were taken to a press gallery, leaving a slew of Twitter users up in arms online.

The mum-of-three took to social media to share her praise for the professional footballer in full view of her 877,000 followers by retweeting a post from journalist Caitlin Morgan.

It read: “Beckham confirmations coming in – if he has queued, unbelievable fair f****** to him.”

Kirstie then chimed in with: “This with bells on, Good on David for queuing, and shame on those who think they are too important to queue.”

In a follow-up post, the Channel 4 presenter tweeted: “No one is forcing anyone to pay their respects to The Queen, but if you are going to do it queue.”

Her loyal legion of fans soon flocked to comment on the post, as one user agreed: “If it’s true it’s very disappointing no reason even if doing it for This Morning should they get in without queuing.”

Another agreed: “Shame Holly and Phillip from This Morning couldn’t be bothered to queue when they are fit and able and let the elderly folk queue for so many many hours …”

A third chimed in with: “Yes agreed! A number of celebs have jumped the queue because they are ‘filming’.”
