BIG Brother icon Davina McCall is reportedly being tapped to host "middle aged Love Island" after publicly declaring she wanted to be part of it.
Earlier this month, ITV confirmed upcoming reality series The Romance Retreat – with producers inviting "single parents" to audition for the eagerly anticipated Love Island-style series.
The Masked Singer judge Davina appeared on the Diary Of A CEO podcast last month and made no secret about her hopes of being part of the series in the future.
Speaking to host Stephen Bartlett, she said: "I’m literally begging ITV to let me present midlife Love Island.
"I could fill a villa in Love Island with middle-aged people with the best backstories you have ever heard in your life.
"They've lived a life! They're widows, they're people who have been through horrific divorces. They are people who have split up with somebody and decided they want to try going out with somebody the same sex as them.
"They're like… interesting people. I'd watch that show."

Now it seems she's getting her wish, with Mail On Sunday reporting she's now the "number one choice".
"Davina is the perfect fit, she is a bubbly, fun and has also endured her own relationship problems," said one insider. "Until she met her boyfriend she was a single mother too."
The Sun Online has reached out to ITV for comment.

Davina has big plans for her future, recently also revealing hopes of reviving her 90s show, Streetmate, where she grabbed eligible singletons off the street.
She said: “I would quite like to do Maturemate where I run around the streets and find somebody 45-plus and set them up with someone.”
