Channel 4 fans are blasting the networks’ latest property reality series as a “rip-off” after the show launched its debut episode of Tuesday (Aug 29).

Selling Super Houses is a reality TV series that follows aspiring estate agents who will demonstrate their abilities to earn the privilege of selling high-end properties.

The eight aspiring agents will be competing for a role as a super prime estate agent within Paul Kemsley’s property agency, Robert Irving Burns.

But as fans watched the launch episode, many were left comparing it to a “rip-off” version of BBC business reality series, The Apprentice and popular property selling show, Selling Sunset.

Fans took to social media to comment.

“Why does #sellingsuperhouses seem like a wannabe UK selling sunset?” asked one fan.

“Wish version of Selling Sunset,” slammed a second.

A third echoed: “So this supposed to be a mix of selling sunset and the Apprentice?” while a fourth penned: “Rip off Selling Sunset.”

Host Paul is an English businessman, property developer and media personality.

He is also the former Vice-Chairman of Premier League football club Tottenham Hotspur.

Paul is no stranger to TV having regularly appeared on the American reality show The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.

Speaking about the new series of Selling Super Houses, Paul said: "After 12 years out of real estate, I feel the time is right for my return to an industry and city I love.

"When the credit crunch hit, I lost the business it had taken 15 years to build.

"I had no choice but to file bankruptcy and start again. The USA love a comeback story and afforded me that opportunity…

"Now it’s time for me to share my knowledge and help the next group of young aspiring entrepreneurs right here in the UK.

The series will air over six episodes on Channel 4 from 9 pm every Tuesday.

"I’m delighted to be teaming up with South Shore and Channel 4 as I embark on my new journey creating, moulding, supporting and advising some of the UK’s brightest new brokers. It’s going to be an emotional, fun, hectic ride,” added Paul.
