Sort Your Life Out host Stacey Solomon has revealed that she and her husband, Joe Swash, were "told off" on the red carpet at the National Television Awards.

The couple were at the awards on Tuesday, 5 September, as Sort Your Life Out was nominated for the first time in the Factual category, but they sadly lost out to Paul O’Grady: For the Love of Dogs.

However, before the ceremony kicked off, the couple had to walk the red carpet, which was surrounded by fans, journalists and photographers.

As the pair made their way up the iconic carpet, they were more than happy to stop along the way, and take selfies with delighted fans and pose for the photographers.

Stacey has now revealed that they were told off for being late as they reached the end of the carpet.

Taking to her Instagram story, the 33 year old gave fans a behind-the-scenes look at what they got up to.

She shared videos and pictures from the walk up the carpet, and in one of those, she wrote: "And by the time we got to the end of the carpet, we were being told off for being late because we took over an hour chatting away to everyone along the way."

The Loose Women panellist also shared some snaps of her alongside two of her sisters, as they were all invited to the event for the first time.

She explained: "One of the most special parts of the night was the fact I got to have both of my sisters by my side.

"Sam, my eldest sister's husband, was nominated for behind the scenes, and Jemma got invited by @abbottlyon. I've only ever been allowed a plus one, and of course, that's always Joe. So this was honestly magical for me."

While it wasn't all glitz and glamour as Stacey shared a funny video of her and Joe trying to pose for photos, as she said that they are always "awkward" with it.

In the video, the couple who married last year can be seen trying to get into the right position for the photo as they try, and put on their best smile.

Stacey wrote: "When you get halfway down, you have to have a picture. Everyone seems to nail it.

"Me and Joe are SOOOOO AWKWARD."

On the night, Stacey looked absolutely stunning as she wore a five-tier baby pink dress, which had a strapless top with sequins, while Joe looked dapper in a black suit with a bow tie.
