Fans of The Chase were left open-mouthed after a contestant bore striking similarities to a rather famous Harry Potter star.

Thursday night’s episode of the ITV quiz show saw Christopher, Anna, Simon and Miriam join forces to take on one of the country's finest brains – and one of them soon stole the show.

As trainee doctor Anna went in for her cash builder round with host Bradley Walsh, viewers were left distracted after fans noticed she looked the spitting image of actress Emma Watson, who plays Hermoine Granger on the popular franchise.

“Anna looks like Emma Watson,” said one player.

“That Anna has a look of Emma Watson is anyone else seeing it?” agreed another.

While a third acknowledge her plans to be a paediatrician, saying: “Anna would be good with children… she could dress up as Hermoine… again!! #TheChase.”

A fourth agreed: “She looks sooo much like Emma Watson.”

Anna wore a floral blouse and had the same short brown hair and natural, make-up free features of the British actress.

Unfortunately, the magic wasn’t there for Anna, who after a round of difficult questions was caught by chase Jenny Ryan, aka The Vixen, and sent home.

Her exit followed fellow contestant Miriam also being sent home, after she failed to make it back to the panel.

Player Christopher and John successfully made it back to the panel, taking them into the final against Jenny as a duo.

The pair were competing for £15k and answered 18 questions correctly in an impressive performance.

After executing three of the five opportunities to push Jenny back, the pair successfully beat Jenny and took home the impressive prize fund.

Jenny then dubbed Christopher a quizzer of “great pedigree” after she appeared to know he was a master quizzer who once appeared on Mastermind and fifteen-to-one.

Fans were delighted for the pair, with one gushing: "Fantastic well deserved."

"It’s so nice to not have an annoying team. Just two clever people. Great result for them," said another.

A third gushed: "Good old Christopher. A finalist on Fifteen-to-One and never mentioned it once. Most contestants wouldn't have been able to resist bragging about it. #TheChase."

The Chase airs weekdays on ITV at 5pm
