THE One Show viewers were left disgusted by Bake Off winner Nadiya Hussain's 'gross and criminal' cake – but would you eat it?

The TV chef – who was crowned winner of the Channel 4 show in 2015 – prepared some tasty treats for presenters Alex Jones and Jermaine Jenas to try.

Nadiya, 38, appeared on the BBC show to talk about her new BBC2 programme Nadiya's Everyday Baking.

The star baked some blondies, as well as some cheese and onion Welsh cakes.

As soon as Nadiya told the hosts what they were trying, an unimpressed Alex asked: "Cheese and onion?"

Jermaine added: "A bit rogue here…"

Nadiya replied: "I love when people react like that. I love it. You want to be proven wrong!"

As Alex bit into the baked good, she said: "I'm very up on Welsh cakes."

And the presenter was certainly impressed.

Jermaine joked: "Oh she's changed her mind! That takes some work, I'll tell you…"

But it seems like viewers at home weren't as open to the idea as Alex.

One wrote on Twitter: "Cheese and onion in a cake? Absolutely f****ing criminal #TheOneShow.”

Another added: "Bit weird to have cheese and onion in a cake. Sounds gross."

Meanwhile others took to the social media platform to praise the GBBO 2015 winner.

One said: "Me and my wife love Nadia' recipes, our grandchildren insist we make her Space Cake when they come to visit."

"Can't wait to try recipes from your new book Nadiya. We love you!!"
