The father of BBC radio star Chris Arnold has gone viral after accidentally ordering 60 pairs of reading glasses in the post.
Tom Arnold, 61, thought he had ordered 12 pairs of reading glasses from but was shocked to receive an order five times that amount.
Mr Arnold, from Perranporth, Cornwall, has since had the cost of the unwanted glasses refunded by the company.
He had mistakenly ordered 12 sets of five glasses instead of 12 individual ones, which set him back approximately £120.
‘I just remember complaining about the packaging – you know, this is an incredible waste of packaging for just a few glasses,’ Mr Arnold said, per the Mirror.

Commenting on his father’s error, radio star Chris said: ‘I just found it hilarious, he said he thought the packaging was excessive, then he opened it up and the box was ful
Chris tweeted about the hilarious incident: stating ‘My Dad has accidentally bought 60 pairs of reading glasses off the internet after misreading the quantity of his order’
‘I opened it up and discovered this small mountain of 60 pairs of reading glasses.’
‘Maybe I didn’t have my glasses on,’ he conceded.
‘I find it a bit hard to believe… but maybe some people need to have a bit of a laugh – have something a bit funny when there’s so much bad news around.’
Commenting on his father’s error, radio star Chris said: ‘I just found it hilarious, he said he thought the packaging was excessive, then he opened it up and the box was full.
In reply to Chris, Specsavers quipped: ‘Do we even need to say it?’
‘He seemed confused as to what had happened. We looked at the order and he had ordered 12 packs instead of one, as they were for him and my mum plus spares. The order came to over £100 but he’s managed to get a refund!’
Appearing on the Jeremy Vine show after the hilarious incident, Tom said: ‘I normally buy about 10 or 12 pairs’ but says he must have clicked on ’12 sets of five’ instead.
He said he has since sent 50 pairs back.
