Dylan Mulvaney was invited to audition for the upcoming Broadway revival of Cabaret – in which Eddie Redmayne is expected to be cast in the male lead.

The trans influencer, 26, has a musical theater background – having performed as Elder White in the Book of Mormon before the pandemic and her gender transition.

According to Page Six, Mulvaney auditioned in front of Broadway producers to play the female lead Sally Bowles at the August Wilson Theater in New York City.

She was ultimately not chosen to play the British role in the first lineup. But if the show – which is set to open in Spring 2024 – has a long run, Dylan Mulvaney may still be on the roster to play Bowles, according to reports.

The role of Bowles has previously been filled with some of the world’s top actors, including Liza Minelli, Emma Stone, Natasha Richardson and Dame Judi Dench.

Cabaret takes place in a seedy nightclub in Berlin, Germany, in the late 1920s just as the Nazis and Adolf Hitler are rising to power. It originally opened on Broadway in 1966 – inspiring shows on London’s West End and a 1972 film.

Sally Bowles is a British flapper girl – who is the headlining singer at the nightclub.

The role is currently being played by Euphoria’s Maude Apatow in London’s Playhouse Theater.

In April 2020, when Book of Mormon closed because of the pandemic, Mulvaney wrote on Instagram: ‘Thank you to all for sending love my way for the Mormon tour’s closing! I can’t believe I got to have this be my first big gig out of school.

‘What I don’t think a lot of people know is that when you tour, Your coworkers become your family and your home is usually a hotel room. As much as I wish I got to do the show one more time (we didn’t know it would be our last), I mostly wish I got to hug everyone goodbye.

‘To my Mormon family: I promise I will find you and harass you about CHEER as soon as this is all over. I love you with every ounce of my being and you are my forever friends. This book has SOOOO changed my life.’

Mulvaney shot to fame while transitioning into a woman on her TikTok channel – before a disastrous partnership with Bud Light caused swathes of negative press.

The sponsorship plummeted the beer brand’s sales and tarnished its reputation among US drinkers.

Most recently, the marketing firm behind Bud Light’s catastrophic link-up with transgender influencer Mulvaney has fired more than a dozen employees days after bragging about a lavish trip to Cannes.

Captiv8 jetted off to the Cannes-Lions film festival in June with members of staff on the bespoke private jet.

The California-based firm bragged about the experience using La Compagnie before they canned 13 of their workers on July 5.

One employee branded CEO Krishna Subramanian as ‘tone deaf’ to the New York Post, adding that those who were fired made up around five percent of the 200 employees at the company.

Subramanian boasted about the trip during a company-wide Zoom meeting and showed off pictures and videos of the luxury trip.
