President Joe Biden, under siege from GOP lawmakers over his mishandling of classified documents, got a rare shoutout from a Capitol Hill Republican Tuesday.

South Carolina Republican Sen. Lindsey Graham vouched for Biden’s character as the president faces intense scrutiny for his handling of sensitive and, in some cases, classified information.

“I’ve known President Biden a long time,” Graham told reporters on Capitol Hill. “I’d be shocked if there’s anything sinister here.”

Graham has same questions for BIden and Trump

Graham’s comments follow the discovery of additional classified documents in Biden’s personal offices besides the initial batch of documents discovered at the Biden Penn Center last year.

The lawmaker also told reporters that he has the same questions for Biden as he does for former President Donald Trump, who is also facing heat for his own personal batch of missing classified documents, including what did the documents contain and who had access to them.

Here’s what we know so far: Revelations grow on Joe Biden’s handling of classified documents

Classified documents were found at Trump’s Mar-a-Lago residence after an authorized FBI raid following months of back and forth between Trump and the National Archives and Justice Department, which wanted him to return classified documents that he had indicated he had in his possession.

Documents also found at former Vice President Mike Pence’s home

Graham’s comments came on the same day a handful of classified documents were found at former Vice President Mike Pence’s home in Indiana and the FBI retrieved them last week, a representative for Pence wrote to the National Archives in letters this month.

During an interview with FOX News, Graham also questioned why Biden attorneys “sat on” information about the initial batch of documents discovered days before the 2022 midterm election.

“If you come to my house, you’ll find Chick-fil-A bags all over the floor, but you’re not gonna find any classified information,” Graham told the network.
