Police have issued a warrant asking for public help to find Richard Pusey, who was jailed for filming four dying police officers after a crash on Melbourne’s Eastern Freeway in 2020.

On Friday, Victoria Police said the 45-year-old was wanted on two outstanding warrants for contravening a court order.

Police released these images of Pusey on Friday.

“Pusey is Caucasian in appearance, about 190cm tall with short brown hair, however, is known to make changes to his appearance,” Victoria Police said in a statement.

“Pusey is known to travel across Victoria both by vehicle and public transport.

“Investigators have released two images of Pusey in the hope someone may be able to provide information on his current whereabouts.”

In December last year, Pusey was jailed for 10 months for sending graphic photos of dying police officers to the financial services watchdog, but was released days later due to time served.

Pusey had lodged a complaint with the Australian Financial Complaints Authority after PSC Insurance Brokers, underwritten by Dawes Motor Insurance, refused to indemnify a black Porsche 911, which was significantly damaged in the Eastern Freeway crash.

Pusey had made a $2.2 million insurance claim over the car, which was valued at $415,000.

The sentence came after a separate 10-month jail term.

In April 2021, Pusey was jailed for offending that included the rare charge of outraging public decency for filming the aftermath of the crash that killed Leading Senior Constable Lynette Taylor, Senior Constable Kevin King and constables Josh Prestney and Glen Humphris.

The police officers had pulled Pusey over for speeding and were discussing impounding the Porsche when Mohinder Singh’s truck crashed into the officers.
