Sickening moment schoolgirl, 12, is beaten on bus by other pupils – who film it on their PHONES

- Mum Tyler Fitzpatrick, 32, compared it to the mid-2000s ‘happy slapping’ trend
This is the sickening moment a schoolgirl was violently beaten up on a bus – while other pupils filmed it on their phones.
Amelia-Paige, 12, can be seen cowering as she’s pummelled by blows to her head from another girl in school uniform in Bacup, Lancashire last Thursday.
Amelia is forcibly pulled from her seat during the savage attack as the other schoolgirl struck her several times with closed fists.
Shockingly, other kids on the school bus stood around filming the incident, while some goaded the attacker by chanting ‘one more, one more’.
Amelia, a Year 7 pupil, tries to straighten herself out, tucking her hair behind her ears, refusing to engage with the fight.
But that doesn’t stop the other schoolgirl launching another brutal attack on her.
Mum Tyler Fitzpatrick, 32, feared her daughter could have been ‘another Sophie Lancaster’, whose murder shocked the nation in 2007.
Sophie, 20, was beaten to death by a group of teenage boys in the town who attacked her because she was a goth.
Speaking about the shocking footage, Tyler compared it to the ‘happy slapping’ trend from the mid-2000s.
The footage was filmed by an older child who knows the family and wanted evidence, rather than for gratification, Tyler said.
She said: ‘Happy slapping was bad enough without the ganging up, the kids were chanting ‘one more time, one more time, hit her again’.
‘What gratification are they getting from my child being hit one more time?
‘In between there’s another boy who dragged a brush through her hair and called her a tramp.
‘What if this had happened in a secluded place? It is feral – it is like a pack of animals.

‘She’s not fighting back. She’s not got a bad bone in her body.
‘Kids do fight – when we were younger kids would fight and then forget about it.
‘Now it’s on Snapchat and Facebook. People are screen grabbing and sharing it.’
Year 7 pupil Amelia-Paige was eager to return to school and has been inundated with gifts and messages of support since her mum posted footage of the attack online.
She’s had offers of salon treatment, hampers, and even an offer of a trip to Disneyland Paris, by generous businesses.
But Mum-of-five Tyler wants the court system to deal with the perpetrator as seriously as possible.
Tyler said: ‘She’s still smiling and that’s the message we want to send.
‘I want to raise awareness that this is happening.

‘She’s been the bigger person and taken it.
‘On Saturday morning the girl was told to go to the police station and was interviewed under caution.
‘One of the parents of a child in the video saw him filming and took him off his football team – he’s had some form of consequence.’
After the video emerged, Tyler received messages on Facebook from some of the children involved who apologised for their behaviour.
She praised their honesty and added: ‘I said ‘it’s very brave of you to message me, I hope you understand the consequences and severity’.
‘It’s like a pack of animals.’
Tyler said she watched a few seconds of the video before bursting into tears.
She kept Amelia off school on Friday and will do for the rest of term until she feels it has been dealt with appropriately by Valley Leadership Academy.
Tyler said: ‘We have been having problems for a few months, she’s been truanting lessons but now I think we know why.
‘She’s very reclusive, I think sometimes she feels she can’t burden us with stuff.
‘I’ve sat down and said to her ‘bullying is not something you hide from me I will always sit down and we can resolve it’.’
Despite problems at school, Amelia-Paige wants to be an art teacher when she grows up.

Tyler said: ‘I want to take this as far as it will go, if we can stop another child from being bullied.
‘The school have had so many emails and phone calls.
‘Amelia isn’t physically scarred, she knew she was being threatened, but she didn’t know there would be 20 of them.
‘She just took the beating. It’s all the people standing around that’s bothering her. I don’t think it’s sunk in yet.
‘She’s got people sending her messages and sending her gifts, a fundraiser has raised £4,000.
‘I think the mental scars will stay for a few years.
‘She wanted to go back to school the next day, she’s a tough cookie, but I said I wasn’t sending her.’
A spokesman for Lancashire Police said: ‘Following our enquiries in relation to an incident that took place on a bus last week, a 12 year old girl has now been interviewed and the case has been referred to the Youth Offending Team who will consider the most appropriate outcome.’
A spokesperson for the school said: ‘A number of our children have been affected by a distressing and unacceptable incident on a public bus.
‘We are liaising with the relevant public authorities, conducting our own rigorous investigation and supporting children and parents.
‘We have high expectations of every pupil and do not tolerate poor behaviour in our school.
‘Whilst this incident took place on a public bus service, we expect our pupils to behave appropriately in and out of school and the overwhelming majority of our pupils demonstrate exemplary character at all times.’
