Matty Healy and his new American  girlfriend Gabbriette Bechtel enjoy a very public display of affection as they embrace during day out in New York

The world went crazy when his relationship with Taylor Swift came to light. 

But Matty Healy has clearly moved on, with the singer evidently taken with his new American girlfriend Gabbriette Bechtel on Wednesday as they shared a public display of affection. 

The 1975 frontman, 34, wrapped his arms around Gabbriette, 26, as they braved the chilly New York City weather in black T-shirts.

The two showed off their tattoos and both continued to cling onto each other while Matty smoked a hand-rolled cigarette.

Gabbriette, who is the leader singer of punk rock band Nasty Cherry, first began dating Matty in September.

Whee! Gabbriette threw her arms in the air while Matty made sure to keep a tight grip around her waist 

Matty wore baggy tan trousers and red-brown trainers while Gabbriette opted for black leggings and black trainers with white socks.

He then put a protective hand on her bottom, and Gabbriette her arms around his neck, as they both looked in different directions. 

Matty tightened his grip around Gabbriette as she looked pensive and held onto her phone. 

He then looked vicious as she neared his face to give him a sweet kiss. 

Then, Matty removed one arm from around Gabbriette’s waist to wave at onlookers, while he kept a straight face.

Something soon caught the couple’s attention while Matty’s tight hug caused Gabbriette’s shirt to rise slightly. 

Matty is the son of actress and Loose Women star Denise Welch and actor Tim Healy and has previously dated Halsey, FKA Twigs, and, most recently, Taylor Swift.

Matty was first linked to Taylor Swift, 33, in 2014, though their relationship quickly fizzled out. 

They then reconnected in May of this year, before splitting less than a month later.

Matty and Taylor’s short romance was plagued with controversy as his previous racist and sexist comments came to light.

The 1975 is on an indefinite hiatus.
