Meghan Markle shifts career after hanging out with wellness guru Gwyneth Paltrow

She’s a huge advocate of holistic practices, using meditation, acupuncture and yoga to keep a healthy mind and body. And last week the Duchess of Sussex was spotted wearing the latest lifestyle gadget – an anti-stress patch – on her wrist.

Meghan, 42, was pictured near her home in Montecito, California, with one sleeve rolled up showing a NuCalm Biosignal Processing Disc on her left wrist. The £3 patches are said to “provide the resonance and frequencies to ensure a fast-acting, deep, and long-lasting NuCalm experience”.

Royal expert Tessa Dunlop claims the duchess – who recently signed with talent agency William Morris Endeavor – is now focusing on building a “broader wellness brand” and is taking inspiration from Gwyneth Paltrow’s lifestyle brand Goop.

She said: “Meghan’s been hanging out with Gwyneth Paltrow and she’s shifted from acting into this broader wellness area,” Tessa said. “There’s speculation about a possible revamp of Instagram, about Meghan being a brand sponsor for wellness products perhaps.

“Even when she and Harry talked about their ventures as film producers, Meghan said they love ‘romcoms’. That’s another area of ‘emotional wellness’ so I think that’s where we can expect to see their brand going.”

A day after being photographed, it was reported Meghan’s former lifestyle blog The Tig – her former “passion project” that she pulled the plug on in 2017 – is set to make a comeback.

After applying to trademark the blog in November last year, The Tig has now been issued with a Notice of Allowance document by the US Patent and Trademark Office. To get the name fully registered, Meghan needs to provide a statement of use, which she will have to do by October or pay for a further six-month extension.

When Meghan stepped out, Harry, 38, was in Singapore, where he played in a polo match for his charity Sentebale in aid of disadvantaged young people affected by HIV/Aids. Sentebale was founded by the Duke and Lesotho’s Prince Seeiso in 2006 to help the most vulnerable children and young people in southern Africa.

During the trip, he met with his polo-playing friend, Ignacio “Nacho” Figueras, in Tokyo. Ignacio shared an image of the pair in a gift shop on social media. He wrote, “Shopping for our wives. Big thank you to Tokyo for your generous hospitality and kindness towards us. And of course, for your continued support of @sentebale!”

Shortly after Harry returned from Asia, Meghan enjoyed a belated birthday celebration with her friends, hairdresser Kadi Lee – who co-founded Highbrow Hippie – a wellness lifestyle and beauty brand and author Cleo Wade in a restaurant garden in LA.

The former Suits actress beamed in a picture where she posed in the middle of her two friends with her arms around them. The snap, which appeared on Highbrow Hippie’s Instagram Stories, was captioned “Belated bday celebrations w/ these lovely muses. Missing sweet @sergenormant.”
