TRYING TO redecorate an entire room can be daunting, from picking the right paint colour to making sure the furniture fits.
But one woman has revealed how she transformed her boring living room into a cosy space just in time for winter.
Sharing the transformation on TikTok, Melanie Jade, an interior designer showed how she redecorated using some basic interior rules and hacks to add character to the room.
In the short clip, Melanie shows the living room before the makeover, which features a pink velvet sofa, cream rug, and a pink feature wall.
She then shows how she transformed the space using a cheap Ikea bookshelf.
She installed the Billy bookshelf and added MDF boards to create arches and painted the set a sage green colour from Valspar paint called Thames Fog.

Melanie then added a feature wall using a tropical-inspired wallpaper from Photowall Sweden.
The worn pink sofa was switched for an emerald green one to tie in the different shades of green throughout the room.
She left one of the walls white and create a colour block feature using the same shade of green for the bookshelf as well as a gallery wall of different artwork.
The interior designer then got to work on adding a fireplace for the ultimate cosy vibes by creating a brick border and adding the fireplace in front.

She added a new rug, a floor lamp and an autumnal reef to finish the transformation.

The video soon went viral and viewers rushed to the comments section of the video to share their love for the makeover.
One wrote: "The transformation added so much depth! Love it!"
Another person commented: "You did a beautiful job! You are so talented!"
