YOU may think that there’s only one way to butter toast but should we be throwing the butter knife away?
One woman has said her method for buttering toast is simpler and makes the butter spread more evenly.
Athlete Jessica Fox method in a TikTok video online.
She claims: “It's just easier, no clumps of butter or holes in the bread. Surely I'm not the only one.”
Jessica said: “So this is how I butter my toast.”
The athlete suspected not everyone would be fans of her hack.

She said: “It might be a little bit controversial.”
Instead of scooping the butter with a knife as usual, Jessica grabs entire block of butter an open it in one end.
Without using any utensils she starts rubbing the butter on the toast back and forth.
Jessica claims her method is easier and helps the butter spread evenly to avoid bitter clumps and won't cause holes in your toast.

It appears the athlete divided opinions in her comments as some viewers were quite impressed with Jessica’s hack, others were appalled.
One user said: “I'd be lying if I said I'd never considered doing that before
Another viewer said: “Personally I wouldn’t care. I would have a separate block of butter for this purpose though.”
A third confessed: “I do this sometimes.”
But some viewers argued for the place of a butter knife.
One commenter said: “No we all use a knife then leave the knife on the edge of the sink in case we need to use it later.”
