Retiree ditches flat and job to live in motorhome – and has never been happier

A 63-year-old quit her job as a BBC reporter, ditched her flat, and moved into a motorhome – but she has no regrets.

Siobhan Daniels ditched her flat in Kent for the £40,000 RV three years ago and has ‘never been happier’.

The retiree gave up the majority of her possessions to embrace the nomadic lifestyle.

Now, Siobhan travels the UK in her beloved motorhome – Dora The Explorer – making new friends, without the added pressure of household bills.

Speaking to The Mirror, Siobhan said: "I felt anxious, weepy and angry with the world".

The mum of one waited until her daughter Sammy had grown up before planning out her nomadic life on the road.

Then following a difficult menopause experience and the loss of both her mother and older sister, she decided to transform how she would live her 60s.

The motorhome owner insists that 'you're never too old to fulfil your dreams' and hopes to inspire others to follow her lead.

Her motorhome boasts a full-size shower, hob and fridge freezer – and she's even kitted herself out with her very own gin bar.

The adventurer has been travelling the UK for two years, and during that time she has set up camp in beautiful areas including the Yorkshire Dales and Loch Morlich in the Highlands.

Writing on Instagram, Siobhan says that she feels 'so blessed' to have met incredible friends along the way, adding that "they have enriched my life and also fired my lust for more adventures".

The ex-journalist has now released a book called Retirement Rebel which details her time on the road and hopes to encourage others to take the plunge on new adventures – regardless of age.
