BBC Breakfast Jon red-faced as Rachel says shed love him to strip off for her

BBC Breakfast 's Rachel Burden begged co-star John Kay to strip into another outfit live on-air.

On Wednesday (August 9), the pair were hosting the BBC Breakfast show live from MediaCity in Manchester.

The duo had been speaking to reporter Emma Vardy, who was in a rental warehouse in Motherwell.

She was covering a story regarding fast fashion and how many more people are turning to renting clothes for occasions.

However, throughout each stint on the program, Emma was dressed in a different outfit, ranging from a long-armed off-the-shoulder white gown to a glitzy sequin dress.

During her report, Jon branded Emma a 'Eurovision host', being able to change during each of her segments in the show.

After Rachel and Jon cut to the journalist in the Scottish town, she quipped whilst wearing a pink blazer and skirt: "Trust me, I am making the absolute most of it".

She went on to explain how renting clothing for anything from glamorous occasions such as festivals to everyday wear has skyrocketed in popularity.

Basing herself in the warehouse, she said that the store had thousands of clothes that were available to rent, in an effort to cut back on fast fashion.

Emma also said that some outfits that would cost upwards of £100 can be loaned for a maximum of just £30, "making it better for your wallet but also for the environment".

After filling viewers in on what was in store for the future of the industry, the journalist beamed: "I'm off to choose my next outfit!"

Jon was quick to point out "there's plenty to choose from" in the warehouse, with Rachel doting: "I want them all".

As the pair turned to cover the next story – where Coronation Star Ellie Leach was to be revealed as the next star to join the Strictly cast – Rachel made a quick joke at Jon.

"I'd love it if you stood up and just ripped off your clothes and there was a sequin outfit underneath," she said.

Jon looked at his co-star in disbelief before turning to the camera: "I can't tell you anything".

Fans were quick to take to social media to make their views known, with one user joking: "This is a most unusual suit Jon Kay".

Whilst another viewer said: "Single use clothing is a completely female phenomenon. Men would never buy something to only use it once".
