Shirley Ballas has been slammed by Strictly fans after her critique of Nigel Harman and Katya Jones’s performance.
The BBC One show was back for Halloween Week as the 10 remaining couples battled it out for a place in week seven of the competition.
Former EastEnders actor Nigel and his professional dance partner Katya took to the ballroom with their Cha Cha to I Was Made For Lovin’ You by Kiss.
After the pair finished their routine, strictly host Tess Daly could be heard telling them: “Oh yes, what a Cha Cha, that was brilliant!”
But Nigel and Katya’s smiles were quickly wiped from their painted faces as their performance prompted some negative feedback from the judges.

Shirley, 63, didn’t hold back as she pointed out Nigel and Katya’s mistake.
“It was connected together, so you were aware of each other. But I have to say, and I’m sure you’ll know again I will say to everybody please play it back, too many mistakes.
“At least two or three mistakes, not synchronised. I can’t do it for one and not for someone else. I can’t do that – it’s not fair.
“So you have to learn that when you come under pressure, and this is what is it the halfway mark now, and the pressure sets in. You have got to be flawless and not be mistakes.”

The head judge added: “Having said that, you are a leading man in this competition, and you do have the possibility to give us that great performance.
“You started off well with your Paso Doble, when you started your Cha Cha I looked at Anton and I thought this is it. And then it falls apart in small places but from where we are sat we can see it.
“You have to work on that, stay focused. I am so sorry, but it is what it is. “
Anton agreed with Shirley’s comments, while Craig and Motsi gave Nigel similar feedback. The pair ultimately earned an eight from Craig, seven from Motsi, seven from Shirley, and eight from Anton, bringing them to a total of 30.
Some Strictly fans were left outraged by Shirley’s comments and Taking to X, formerly known as Twitter, @melanie_dewar wrote: “My heart went out to Nigel tonight, he is a fabulous dancer, I thought Shirley was far too harsh on him and it was awful to listen to her.”
@elinf88 stated: “Really feel certain judges, (yes, Shirley) are overly harsh and bordering on rude towards Nigel #strictly.”
While @sophiepatricia6 asked: “Does Shirley dislike Nigel or is it Katya? That was my favourite dance of the night #StrictlySpoiler.”
“Why does Shirley constantly wage this vendetta against Nigel?? She’s not fair, not just and frankly should be replaced. Enough already. #StrictlyComeDancing”, added @maymay22.
