Rovers Return faces closure in bombshell Coronation Street plot | The Sun

JENNY Connor has been at the helm of the Rovers Return pub since 2018.

But next week in Coronation Street, the landlady played by Sally Ann Matthews faces difficulties – could she sell the pub away?

Five years have flown by since Jenny first bought the Rovers with her then-husband Johnny Connor from Peter Barlow and Leanne Battersby.

The iconic Weatherfield pub has been at the centre of memorable discoveries and explosive brawls with Jenny trying to maintain order from behind the bar alone since her split with Johnny in 2021.

Jenny has received the help of her stepdaughter Daisy Midgeley, Gemma Winter, Glenda Shuttleworth and Sean Tully, who have all taken up their spot as barmaids.

But in scenes airing next week on ITV, she turns to Owen when she comes clean about the Rovers' financial struggles.

Owen (played by Ben Hull) suggests she should sell up, much to her annoyance, and Jenny makes it clear selling isn't an option.

Jenny is clearly running out of options but how will she cope?

Fortunately for her, businessman – and undercover serial killer – Stephen Reid (Todd Boyce) later has a suggestion of his own to help Jenny.

He tells her that rather than increasing prices, she should reduce portion sizes.
