My girlfriend was all for it when I got her name tattooed on my chest – then I found out she catfished me & it got worse | The Sun

AN INFATUATED woman got the name of her online girlfriend tattooed on her chest but was shocked to learn she was a catfish.

She fell for her online lover immediately thanks to her tattoos but after a year, suspected something was up.

Jass, a 20-year-old from Texas, explained her situation to MTV's reality television show, Catfish.

"A little over a year ago, I met a girl on a dating app named Lillian and she's absolutely gorgeous," she wrote in an email to the show's hosts, Nev and Kamie.

"Her sexy tattoos and confidence caught my eye right away, Lillian is also 20 and lives in Bradenton, Florida."

Despite the distance, the two quickly hit it off, talking on the phone frequently.

Jass was worried that Lillian never wanted to video-chat and upon investigating on her own, discovered that Lillian not only had a boyfriend but was also pregnant.

Even worse, Jass was finally able to reach Lillian over video chat — only for Lillian to drop the bomb that Jass had not been talking to her but that someone had stolen her photos and pretended to be her.

This prompted Jass to confront whoever "Lillian" was: "I confronted her and she confessed and told me her name was actually Kayla Johnson," she said.

Jass was livid when she realized she had gotten catfished: "That's even worse for me because I just got Lillian's name tattooed on my chest a few months prior," she said.

Despite the betrayal, Kayla wanted Jass back, which Jass admitted was conflicting.

"I don't know who she is anymore, I know it sounds crazy but although my trust went away, my love didn't," she explained.

Jass revealed to the hosts that even after Kayla's confession, she still refused to reveal herself over video chat, keeping Jass in the dark about what she looked like.

While Kayla had sent her photos of herself, Jass, understandably, didn't trust her the second time around.

Upon conducting their own investigation, the hosts revealed to Jass that "Kayla" had, as she suspected, lied to her a second time, as the photos belonged to a girl named Imani.

Running the phone number Jass had been calling "Kayla" from, the hosts uncovered her girlfriend's real name, Shynia, and her address.

The hosts and Jass flew to Florida to confront Shynia in person, who explained that she had initially catfished Jass to get back at an ex.

"I found out my ex-girlfriend cheated on me so I made the fake profile of Lillian," she explained.

Despite catfishing Jass, Shynia explained she had fallen in love with her but didn't know how to come clean.

"I feel like I was lying because I was just trying to protect myself," she said.

After finding out Jass had gotten Lillian tattooed on her chest, Shynia admitted she wanted to confess to her lies but couldn't bring herself to do it.

"I wanted to tell her right there and then I was not Lillian… I was like damn she's going to be mad as hell, she got a random b***h tatted on her," she said.

"Instead of her being mad, I said okay, let's just go along with it."

Shynia apologized for her deception: "If I could go back and change things and be myself the first time, I would," she said.

Although the two didn't get back together as Jass remained hurt by Shynia's actions, Shynia is currently saving money to help Jass get the tattoo removed.
